Career Milestones
In his rich service to the community Dr. Hamed Ghazali was involved in as well as initiated many of the following activities:

  • 1985 Completed a study of the interpretation of the entire Holy Quran. This included a careful study of the Ibn Katheer, In the Shades of the Quran, all the volumes of Tafseer by Ibn Taymiah, and the major writings of Tafseer by Ibn Qayyim Aljawzia.
  • 1988 Completed the memorization of the Holy Quran.
  • 1988 Completed a short course on Oloom Alquran
  • 1998 Finished a special course on “Osool Al-Tafseer” by Dr. Mohamed Alqiee. The course included about 100 audiotapes of lectures and discussions with students in the graduate program in Alazhar University.
  • 1998 – Present Completed a thorough study of each Surah of the Quran that analyzed how the verses of each Surah are related to each other. This study covered all the Suras from the beginning of the Quran up to Surat Al-Zummar in part 23. I am still working on the rest of it. A good portion of this work has been recorded on audiotapes while giving a weekly class on understanding the art of Tafseer in the Kansas City and Houston. Some it is also written in a draft of a book. The first book covering Surat Al-Baqarah on a series of books on this area is already produced. The series is called the “Companion,” meaning your companion in the Journey of understanding the Quran. It goes hand in hand with other authentic books of Tafseer. In this work I used the skills I learned in the field of education to analyze the Quran. The methods used are in line with present research methods that are applied in the field of social sciences.
  • 1990 Had the honor of being a special companion of Dr. Yousuf Al-Qaradawi for 4 days during his stay in the United States. This gave me an opportunity to discuss with him one-one different aspects related to my interest in the area of the Holy Quran and other areas.
